Supporting Parents of Children with Special Needs: Implementing Best Practices for the AP/OD Program

Being a parent comes with both joyous moments and challenges. Parents of children with special educational needs face particular challenges than other parents. Join us for a FREE Workshop to learn how you can support these parents who face unique challenges with children.
Our AP/OD implementing partner will share her personal experience as a parent of children with Individualized Education Program (IEP) and her work with implementing Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors program. She will guide you through understanding the best practices to implement and support parents who attend your AP/OD program by exploring the different resources available to you.
We invite you to join us for our workshop as we explore the difficulties parents experience and how to be better equipped to help them and their families.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain insight into the needs of parents with children with special educational needs.
- Discuss best practices to implement the AP/OD program for parents of children with special needs or those enrolled in Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Explore resources to support parents of children with special needs or enrolled in Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Target Audience:
This online workshop is designed for 3rd Edition implementing partners this can include certified facilitators, program managers, and administrators who oversee the AP/OD program for their organization/agency/school.
Duration:
This online workshop is designed to be 45 minutes in length.
